Lars and the Real Girl [Sunday
October 28th, 2007 at 12:18am]
So tonight I did something I've never done before...I went to the movies by myself. It was freaking awesome! Now I know most of you will think "that's really lame", "couldn't she find someone to go with" or "that's scary". Well it was great, please keep in mind though, I'm an only child so I'm used to doing stuff by myself and this may not be an experience for everyone.

Reasons why it rocked:
I wasn't constantly looking at the other person's reactions
I could slouch all over the place
I didn't feel the need to talk/listen to someone else.

Also, I wasn't the only one, which was pretty surpising. There were quite a few of us. I still like having movie buddies, but the fear of going by myself is now gone. Woot!

Lars and the Real Girl

Really good movie. I laughed and cried. It may seem like a disturbing premise, but it's actually really sweet and is a great fictional case study for any person interested in psychology. Ryan Gosling is amazing as the main character Lars. There is a reason he was nominated for an Oscar last year and it shows in this film. It teaches tolerance, unconditional love, and growth. Watch it for: teddy bear CPR, a real doll "reading" to children at a hospital (tape recorder on her lap reciting the story), Ryan Gosling's singing, and a general good time.

I give it an: A-

I write a lot of personal stuff in here so it's not really open to the general public, but if you comment I may add you. Movie reviews are usually public so, yeah, be excited for that!
